"This picture is from one of my earliest matches, in 1973. You can imagine what I was going through, facing the 450-pound Chris Taylor, who was an Olympic medalist in wrestling. The 205-pound Paul Pershmann had little effect on this giant on a man, and it didn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out who was going to win this match. Thank God wrestling is a work!"

"We lost Chris at a very young age, and it was truly an honor and a privilege to know Chris, his wife and child. We made it through the training camp together with Bob Remus (Sergeant Slaughter), which was one of the biggest accomplishments any of us managed to pull off."
