"New Zealand’s Sheepherders (Luke Williams and Butch Miller) and myself worked in the Pacific Northwest as The Army. We had a hell of a run, working against Piper, Rick Martell and all the big names of that period. The Sheepherders had a really unorthodox style, which got over very well. The Army eventually fell apart, and that led the maniacal Kiwis into a feud against Ed Wiskoski and myself. (I think that was the first time The Sheepherders ever worked as faces.)"
"I met Luke and Butch in Hawaii 1978, when we were working for Ed Francis. They asked me to try and get them booked in the Pacific Northwest, because of my connections. I talked to Don Owen, and he was happy to bring them on. They went on to become one of the great tag teams of the 1980s and 1990s, later becoming The Bushwhackers of the WWF." |
